CrossFit vs Weightlifting…

In recent years, a wide range of exercise modalities have emerged and become popular (many of which have existed for more than 30 years, but are simply renamed for marketing purposes), including CrossFit.
People tend to get confused and compare them (physical training) to weightlifting. I'll offer a brief explanation of both:

What is CrossFit?

It's an intense exercise program designed to improve fitness and strength. It consists of a combination of functional, cardiovascular, and resistance exercises suitable for all fitness levels.

If you have any "crossfit" friends, that is, friends who practice CrossFit, you've probably heard the word "WOD".

The CrossFit WOD is simply the workout of the day, and it includes a series of exercises that can vary from running, squats, push-ups, deadlifts, pull-ups, etc.

WODs are created with the purpose of increasing muscle mass (or sometimes nothing, depending on your protein intake in your diet), reducing body fat, and increasing endurance.

Advantages of CrossFit
Let's first look at the advantages that CrossFit offers us:

Variety: In CrossFit classes, you'll never get bored because the WODs change every day and can range from easy to one that will leave you breathless on the floor. "The workouts are always changing, and you'll never get bored." The coaches are responsible for designing the day's WOD.

Group training: Each class has between 5 and 20 participants.

New exercises: You'll be constantly learning new movements and routines. There are several Olympic lifts that you'll practice in CrossFit classes. Most importantly, the instructors will teach you the correct way to perform them, as they require proper technique to avoid injury. The instructor has the training plan prepared before you arrive and will guide you through each movement and exercise. All you have to do is show up and train hard, performing the exercises correctly.

Now we will look at weight training exercises.

Weight training is vital in any exercise program and any sport. It helps strengthen muscles, boost metabolism, and reduce body fat. While cardiovascular exercise is essential for burning calories, adding weight training to your exercise program can increase your BMR by 151 TP3T or more.

BMR, or basal metabolic rate, is the amount of energy your body burns while at rest. Now let's look at the benefits of weight training:

Advantages of Weight Training:

  1. Increased muscle mass: This leads to an increase in testosterone, which in turn will help you prevent diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, and many more.
  2. Targeted training for surgeries and injuries: If you're recovering from an injury or need to strengthen a specific muscle, weight training is your best option. It allows you to work muscles in isolation.

And finally, what we do at Omega Team: bodybuilding!

Bodybuilding is a discipline that involves a complete lifestyle change. It requires following a lifestyle in which your diet is specifically tailored to your body, mind, and goals (which is why each person has a personalized plan). Being a bodybuilder means changing your mindset based on discipline: eating what you should, training according to plan, and resting properly, among other aspects.

People who adopt a bodybuilding lifestyle tend to be more successful in their personal lives because they learn discipline and develop a clearer understanding of the joy of accomplishment, the satisfaction of their work, and the pleasure of training. Generally, they are mentally healthier and, as a result, cultivate an abundance mindset in all aspects of their lives. They are more positive and don't give up in the face of adversity. This is the bodybuilding lifestyle, a far cry from simply lifting weights or doing CrossFit.

Bodybuilding is all-encompassing. If you want a muscular physique with little fat, it's achievable. If you want a physique with less muscle mass and more fat, that's also possible. If you're looking to increase your aerobic capacity, that's also achievable. This is very different from simply lifting weights, where you can only increase strength slightly, or CrossFit, where you'll rarely see large, muscular bodies (although they may be low in fat), but you could never compete in events like the Olympia or Arnold Classic.

In my opinion, there are exercises for everyone, but if you're confused about which is best, I'd say none, because they're designed for different goals and results. However, if you're looking for a radical change in your mind and body, I suggest you focus solely on bodybuilding. That's all there is to it!
